During the West African Ebola Pandemic, one of the world’s largest aid and humanitarian organisations faced an urgent requirement to develop and disseminate innovative protocols. This was essential in order to ensure the safety of their staff and beneficiaries. The programme required the rapid evolution of novel and effective solutions to a rapidly changing disease, as well as the effective delivery and enforcement of those solutions to a multinational workforce, dispersed across remote and isolated locations in the three affected nations of Guinea, Sierra Leone, and Liberia. Iqarus staff deployed rapidly to all affected countries, developed effective and pragmatic operating procedures, and designed an innovative and pragmatic training program to ensure that the organisation could continue to operate safely and confidently throughout the Pandemic. These solutions were subsequently adopted by Ebola treatment centers and medical evacuation teams across all the impacted countries.
